I’m Giving Yoga a Try

So I’m quite determined to get my body into peak shape, but now comes the question as to how to do it.
I’m normally the “hard charging” type who would tend to just start blowing it up at the gym or running obsessively on hard concrete, but I’ve done it enough times in the past to know that it leads to injury.
Last year I decided to undertake P90X as an alternative fitness program, but I ended up injuring myself after only a few weeks. Also, I was not able to get the supplements (which is essential) and I also was unwilling to change my diet which made all that work worthless.
Running is a no-no at this point in time, as it’s not a good idea to start pounding my 250+ lb frame across long distances. My shin splints will flare up an that’s a recipe for disaster.
I’ve decided to give yoga a try. I have a Yoga DVD that came with the P90X course and it’s no walk in the park. I can start with 30 minutes p/day and work my way up from there.
Yoga builds strength, balance, and breath control all at the same time. I’ve also discovered that because your body is constantly moving in all types of odd positions your muscles begin pumping your lymph fluid throughout your body which promotes better cell health and performance.
I like the idea that I can start on my path to physical fitness while I am losing weight via an overhauled diet and taking natural health supplements. I’m willing to give it a shot, as I’m doing it in my home in the morning before anyone gets ups, so my “man pride” isn’t queued up. I need to get that man pride brought under the control of Christ anyway.
